Before we jump in, we wanted to recognize that it’s been a week full of hard news on mental health and suicide. And it can especially challenging for those of us who have been personally impacted. No one should suffer alone. Take time to reach out to others who may be need help in your community. If you are in need of support, we encourage you to reach out to a trusted loved one or provider, and call the National Suicide Prevention hotline at 1-800-273-8255.

Dear Group Leaders,

Tuesday was one of our movement’s biggest primary days yet.

It was thrilling to watch the returns of our endorsed IndivisiCandidates, but most importantly, it was great to see so many Indivisibles engaged in their districts. Group leaders (like you!) were out until the polls closed, hustling until the very end to get that vote out. (Shout out to the THREE groups in Southern California who held four text banking parties the weekend before to help get GOTV in red districts!)

Indivisible-endorsed candidate, Jeramey Anderson (MS-04), secured the Democratic nomination in his primary and now heads to November. Congrats again to Jeramey and his endorsing group, South Mississippi Indivisible, for all of the inspired work they’re to lift up progressive values and policies in deep red Mississippi!

And California’s jungle primary system led to some dramatic, yet compelling, moments. In CA-48, where Indivisible-endorsed candidate Harley Rouda is running, votes are still being counted -- the margin is just 119 votes! Results seem to indicate that election day voters were breaking for Rouda, but no matter the final outcome, progressives in California proved that they’re ready to fight for every vote in the 48th.

As we saw in these races, endorsements from your groups can make a HUGE difference in a race. If your group has made a local endorsement and you want to nominate a candidate for national consideration, don’t wait! You have until Wednesday, June 30, at 11:59pm ET to nominate a federal (House or Senate) or gubernatorial candidate for a national endorsement. Submit your nomination here to be considered in our next round.

New! Activist to-dos for the week

You asked and we’re delivering! We launched the The Activist To-Do List as an easy way to share the most important actions for the week with your supporters. Copy, paste, or screenshot to share our list below with your group members far and wide!

  1. Register to vote. And get everyone else you know to register, too -- just send them to our voter registration tool at indivisible.turbovote.org to get started.
  2. Read up on all of our endorsed candidates. Soon, we’ll mobilize Indivisibles to volunteer on key, upcoming races. So read up, get familiar, and get ready to work!
  3. Make a call to end family separation. The heartbreaking details of the Trump administration’s treatment of children continue to unfold. Call on your member of Congress (MoC) and urge them to speak out against this cruel policy.

Build that Blue Wave! Voter Contact 101

It’s a fact: talking to voters, particularly face to face, is the single most important thing you can do in your electoral work. But there are a lot (a LOT) of voters we want to talk to. And in the wide, wide world of best practices to contact voters, it’s hard to know what works best… let alone where to get started.

Never fear! We’ve just released our Voter Contact 101 resource, demystifying how to set your your group up for success in reaching voters. In the guide, we cover:

✔️The three key phases: identification and capacity building; the road to victory; and GOTV
✔️Various tactics for contacting voters
✔️How to use these best practices with your canvassing and phone banking tools (Seriously, they’re awesome tools! Register right now to sign up to use them.)

It’s never too soon to get started -- check out our guide and become a voter contact pro.

And! Nearly 100 Indivisible groups so far already have sign up to use our canvassing and phonebanking tools through the Voter Activation Network (VAN), and we’re not slowing down. We’re proud to offer every single Indivisible group the opportunity to sign up for these powerful electoral tools -- including yours!

If you’re ready to make an impact in your district, sign up to use our voter contact tools today. (Quick note: You’ll need to log in to Indivisible HQ to access the signup form. If you haven’t made an account on HQ yet, just click “Sign Up Here” and make a new one.)

Make the most of our one-for-one fundraising match

We’ve been thrilled to see so many groups taking part in Indivisible Project’s distributed fundraising program since we announced our limited-time match. Starting this month through October, all funds you raise through this program will be matched one-for-one, up to $500 -- and already 125 groups have taken part!

If you haven’t started fundraising yet and you’re ready to kick off your program, just select one person from your group to be the treasurer and fill out the application here. Our team will follow up with you on the next steps.

Not sure if this is right for your group? Check out our latest webinar that goes over the ins-and-outs of the program, and feel free to reach out to fundraising@indivisible.org with any questions.

This week’s policy rundown

We’re all rolling up our sleeves and getting to work on key elections across the country. But Congress’ agenda doesn’t stop. Here’s what’s happening on the Hill this week:

  • The Trump administration continues to sabotage our health care system. The Department of Justice filed a brief Thursday arguing that protections for people with preexisting conditions are unconstitutional with the #GOPTaxScam effectively eliminating the penalty for not having insurance. You can read our explainer here for the latest information; the bottom line is that our health care will not be safe until we elect progressives up and down the ballot who will fight to protect it.
  • House Republicans continue to hold Dreamers hostage. This coming week — the very same week that marks the 6th anniversary of the DACA program — Republicans are working on a "deal" that would require cuts to family migration and increased funding for Trump's deportation machine in exchange for protection for Dreamers. But remember: the best way to protect Dreamers isn’t taking a bad deal; it’s electing MoCs who will fight tooth and nail for a permanent solution.
  • Trump heads to Singapore on June 12 for the North Korea summit. Trump said Thursday he said that he doesn’t need to prepare much because “it’s about attitude.” Unwinding a decades-long international conflict involving nuclear weapons requires more than just attitude. Read our resource and call your MoCs to ask them to publicly urge sustained diplomacy. And we’ll watch to make sure Trump doesn’t (further) botch the talks.
  • The Senate will mark up a new blank check for Trump to wage war. Next week, the Senate Foreign Relations Committee will consider a new bill (the “Corker-Kaine AUMF”) that would make Trump’s wide-ranging war authorities even wider. Trump doesn’t need a blank check for war -- this bill must not become law.
  • The Inspector General for the Department of Justice will release its long-awaited report next week. This report will likely critique the FBI’s (and former Director Comey’s) actions during the 2016 election, and Trump is certain to seize upon the report release to undermine the Mueller investigation. Read our resource and take action to be ready if Trump crosses a red line and interferes in the investigation.
  • As always, Trump’s actions this past week made us less safe. Go to trumpthreatlevel.indivisible.org to see the running list of all the ways he has harmed our national security.
