MAGA extremists have forced through a total ban and dragged AZ back to the 19th century

Indivisibles,

The Arizona State Supreme Court has just issued a horrific ruling reinstating an abortion ban from 1864. The law bans abortion outright and imposes criminal penalties -- up to five years in prison -- on anyone who provides or aids in providing an abortion. MAGA extremists had already passed a fifteen-week abortion ban in Arizona, but that wasn’t enough for them. They were intent on dragging us back to the 19th century.

The law will go into effect in fourteen days. As devastating as this ruling is, we know there’s a path to restoring abortion rights. People in Arizona want the right to an abortion protected, not taken away by politicians and judges imposing their extremist ideologies. If given the chance, we know a majority would vote to restore and protect reproductive freedom in the state. That’s why we’ve spent the last seven months gathering signatures to put an abortion rights amendment on the ballot this November.

As you’re reading this, over 1,600 Indivisible volunteers are collecting signatures and more volunteers are signing up every day. They’re crisscrossing their communities and talking to voters on their doorsteps, at farmers markets, coffee shops, and county fairs. This latest assault on our rights by MAGA judges and politicians has fired up our volunteers, and they’re ready to collect the hundreds of thousands of signatures we need to guarantee abortion rights make it on the ballot.

With the deadline to qualify just three months away, we need all the help we can get. Can we count on you to pitch in and provide our volunteers with everything they need to put abortion on the ballot in Arizona?

Your donations will help pay for clipboards, pens, trainings, and innovative tools like our Neighbor2Neighbor canvassing program -- and the impact will go beyond Arizona. The state has two flippable House seats, one crucial open Senate race, and eleven must-win Electoral College votes. If we win up and down the ballot in Arizona, we can secure a new trifecta that’s capable of restoring abortion rights across the country -- and this ballot initiative will help us do just that.

We know voter turnout is higher when abortion is on the ballot. Every time an Indivisible volunteer goes out to collect signatures, they’re having conversations with voters highlighting the stakes of this election, and mobilizing the people we need to win in November.

Arizona has shown us just how far MAGA Republicans will go in stripping away our rights -- but the state also holds the key to restoring abortion rights for the entire country. If you’re ready to fight back against MAGA’s attacks on our freedoms, click here to pitch in, help us put abortion on the ballot, and pave the way to a pro-choice trifecta this November.
