As we approach Earth Day, it’s a good time to step back and take stock of what this election means not just for our country, but for our entire planet, all the creatures that call it home, and every generation to come.

Indivisibles,

We often talk about the stakes of this election for the future of our democracy. But as we approach Earth Day, it’s a good time to step back and take stock of what this election means not just for our country, but for our entire planet, all the creatures that call it home, and every generation to come.

For the sake of the planet, it’s clear we have to defeat the anti-science MAGA movement and its climate-denialist leader, Donald Trump.

People may not remember how bad Trump’s first term was for the environment (see graphic, below). And thanks to Project 2025 -- the Trump team’s plan to replace career professionals at places like the Department of the Interior and the EPA with MAGA sycophants -- a second term would be much, much worse. As in billions of tonnes of increased carbon emissions, setting the climate fight backwards by years worse.

On the flip side, most voters don’t realize just how much President Biden has accomplished for the climate in his first term (again, see graphic, below). Through the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) -- the largest piece of climate legislation ever -- and a series of executive actions, Biden has built a strong record of climate action, green job creation, and energy savings for working families. It's a sharp contrast with Trump's fossil fuel agenda:

There’s still more to do to address the climate crisis, from shaping the implementation of the IRA to pushing Biden and Democrats to take even more bold action like declaring a climate emergency. But we can’t build the momentum we need for greater action if voters aren’t even aware of the progress we already made. And we won’t be able to make any progress in combating the climate crisis if Donald Trump is reelected.

Basically what we’re saying is: If you care about protecting our environment and leaving a livable planet to future generations, please chip in to help us reach voters about the stakes of this election and mobilize them to defeat Trump.

Indivisible has a track record of defeating MAGA election after election, and we’ve got a plan to do it again this November. But it’s going to require reaching hundreds of thousands of voters in swing states who right now don’t know enough about what Biden has accomplished and only have a hazy memory of the damage Trump wreaked on our country and planet.

We’ll be doing this through our Majority Over MAGA campaign this year, using postcards, phonebanks, direct-to-voter texting, and our groundbreaking Neighbor2Neighbor canvassing tool. Oh, and through social media -- you can help out right now by sharing the graphic above!

But unlike Trump, we don’t have oil execs writing us massive checks to fund our campaigns. We rely on the grassroots. So if you’ve got a few bucks to help us execute our game plan and help save the planet (sorry to be so dramatic, but that’s the reality) -- please chip in today.
