Pamela,

Over the weekend, Donald Trump announced that he plans to vote to uphold Florida’s six-week abortion ban at the ballot box this November.

Well, first he announced he was going to vote against the ban. Then, amidst a stern backlash from his base, he changed his tune, saying he’d keep one of the nation’s strictest abortion bans on the books.

Given all the flip-flopping, it’s understandable if some voters are confused about his views – he seems confused himself. But it’s really pretty simple.

  • Since entering politics, Trump has catered to anti-abortion extremists with every single move he’s made.
  • He is responsible for the overturning of Roe which has resulted in 43% of women (and more trans and non-binary people) living in states with abortion bans.
  • If he wins a second term, he will, without doubt, try to ban abortion nationwide.

We have the receipts to prove it:

how Trump ripped away abortion access -- visit our explainer

Our new explainer covers Trump’s record on abortion from his first campaign to now, the full extent of the crisis he’s created, and what he plans to do (even if he doesn’t say it) if he wins a second term.

The truth is Trump is afraid. He's committed to continuing to deliver for the anti-abortion extremists in his base, but he knows attacks on reproductive freedom are deeply unpopular. He's watched as abortion rights voters have turned out in every election since Roe was overturned, flipping state supreme courts and legislatures, passing ballot initiatives, and defeating MAGA candidates in swing state after swing state.

Now, polling shows abortion is virtually tied with the economy as the number one issue among women. That's why he's scrambling to obscure his record and claim he’s not the threat to reproductive freedom that he’s proven himself to be. Unfortunately, there are still too many swing voters who don't attribute all the abortion bans being enforced now to Trump. But you can help change that.

  • Read our new explainer and share it. Get the word out about the devastating impact of Trump’s attacks on reproductive rights so we can get all hands on deck in this fight for our rights.
  • Pitch and help us get the word out. We’re providing our volunteers with resources (like this explainer!) and tools to reach the critical voters we need to win in November. But we can’t provide this support without the help of our grassroots donors, so please pitch in if you can.
  • Sign up to volunteer. It’s up to us to stop Trump and Republicans so we can protect reproductive freedom for all. No matter where you live, we have opportunities for you to get involved in the most important races happening across the country.

In solidarity,
