Phonebanking training on Thursday, May 29

Indivisibles,

On Thursday, House Republicans advanced Trump’s Medicaid-slashing, democracy-eroding, billionaire-enriching reconciliation bill -- but we still have time to defeat it.

To do that, we’ve got to start by focusing on the senators most likely to vote against this bill. We need their phones ringing off the hook with constituents demanding they vote NO.

One way to do that? Phonebanks into target states where our volunteers can connect voters directly with their elected officials.

If we want to reach a lot of voters, we need a lot of trained-up volunteers. So, if you’re interested in phonebanking but you’re not ready to jump in just yet -- you want more training, practice, or familiarity with the tech and the process -- we hope you’ll check out our upcoming training.

Join us for an introduction to phonebanking training on Thursday, May 29 at 5pm ET/2pm PT to learn what phonebanking is all about, and how we’re going to use it to protect Medicaid, SNAP, and other vital programs.

Phonebanking: Proven method of contact; voters need 10-14 touches to turn out; direct contact is the most effective; talking to voters is a crucial and impactful touchpoint

To take on a new, more authoritarian Trump administration, backed by a sycophantic MAGA Congress, we’re going to need bigger, better, and bolder strategies. That’s why we’re employing a new phonebanking system to take advantage of inventive methods of contacting voters.

In this training we’ll:

  • Break down the effectiveness of phonebanking
  • Walk you through how our new phonebanking tool works
  • Give you tips to have the most impactful conversations
  • Explain what to expect during an actual phonebank

This space is about learning a new skill, or sharpening an old one, without the pressure of needing to make actual calls right away. So don’t worry about if you normally get too nervous to phonebank, we want to get you acquainted first. This is a training to get you ready for our upcoming phonebanks into target states like Ohio, Maine, North Carolina, and Utah.

Come learn about our new system, why phonebanking works, best practices for talking to strangers, and how we’re going to defeat Trump’s horrific reconciliation bill at our phonebanking training Thursday, May 29 at 5pm ET/2pm PT.

In solidarity,
Indivisible Team

P.S. If you want to get right to work fighting this reconciliation bill, check out our Stop the Cuts page for up-to-date information about what you can do today to fight back.
