Moments ago, Republicans in Congress voted to pass Trump’s billionaire tax scam. They chose to take healthcare away from 17 million people, kick 11.8 million people off of food stamps, and rip school lunches away from kids -- all so they could shovel $4.5 trillion to the ultra-rich in tax giveaways.

With Republicans in control of both chambers, we knew defeating this bill would be an uphill battle. But Indivisibles understood the stakes and we fought like hell until the very last vote. We drove tens of thousands of calls to Congress, filled over 2,800 phonebank shifts, mobilized district office visits, rallied at Hands Off events, and peeled off Republican votes in both the House and Senate.

But in the end, Republicans chose to side with billionaires over their constituents to pass this bill. They cared more about staying in the good graces of their cult leader than they did about the lives of vulnerable families back in their districts.

They think they’ll get away with this. They hope that by the time 2026 rolls around, their constituents will forget about their betrayal. It’s up to all of us to make sure they don’t.

The fight to kick these corrupt bastards out of office starts right now. Every dollar we raise today will go directly toward holding them accountable and ending their House and Senate majorities next year.

We’re going to funnel that energy into local Indivisible groups in the states and districts of the most vulnerable members from now until the election.

☑️ Making Republicans own this vote every single day: Over the coming year, some of the dire consequences of the big ugly bill will begin playing out as people lose healthcare, a supercharged ICE terrorizes our communities, and prices skyrocket. From rapid response actions, to digital takedowns, to door-to-door canvassing, we’ll use every tool at our disposal to remind voters in key districts and states that all of it was enabled by their Republican Members of Congress.

☑️ Developing our tools and tactics: From helping our groups recruit and train new members to honing our canvassing, phonebanking, and texting operations, we’ll make sure our activists have the most cutting-edge grassroots tools at their fingertips.

We don’t usually fundraise for our electoral work quite this far out from Election Day. But right now, we’re feeling pretty motivated.

There’s going to be a LOT of work to do between now and then to support and protect the people who are going to feel the harm of this bill the most. But ultimately, the only way we’re going to reverse these policies is by defeating the goons responsible and winning back power.
