Indivisibles,
Today, there were over 3,300 protests (and a few still underway) in all 50 states and across the globe against a fascist wannabe-king, his tyrannical violence at home and abroad, and the corrupt circle of profiteering oligarchs enabling it all.
This regime has used threats, intimidation, and a constant deluge of atrocities to heighten fear and cynicism so that the American people would not fight back as it shreds our Constitution, disappears our neighbors, steals from us, and turns our country into a pariah rogue state.
But the people are fighting back -- and in larger numbers than ever before. We can now estimate that at least 8 million people protested today, making this the largest protest in US history.
That means that over a million new people joined us this time around -- and we’re hearing stories from all over of people who didn’t just attend their first No Kings protest -- they attended their first-ever protest.

And that’s the power of the No Kings protests. By being huge, and being everywhere, they invite new people into our movement -- not only those who attend, but those who drive by and get inspired, or see the scale of opposition on TV and realize they aren’t alone, and there’s hope for us yet.
How we welcome those folks into our movement and turn the momentum of No Kings Day into sustained, powerful, disruptive resistance will be the subject of a coalition-wide Mass Call on Tuesday night. Join us if you can, at 8pm ET / 5pm PT.
Tuesday’s call will be about what’s next after today’s historic day of action and focus on two major initiatives:
- Nationwide organizing meetings to welcome protesters into ongoing political organizing. We’ll be launching nationwide community meetings -- hosted by protest organizers and attendees -- to help people politically awakened by No Kings get involved with sustained local actions around ICE monitoring, election protection, and noncooperation. They’ll be a great way to connect folks with Indivisible groups and existing networks and foster new groups and leadership building.
- Gearing up for a national day of economic disruption on May Day. We always say mass mobilizations are just one tactic. Economic disruption is another tactic. And it’s most successful when you’ve done the work to build a large, broad-based coalition of folks ready for higher-level actions. So now, the ground is laid for May Day Strong’s national day of “No school, no work, no shopping” to put the oligarchs enabling Trump’s power grabs on notice.
Join the No Kings Coalition’s Mass Call on Tuesday to learn more about how we’re going to continue building power and defying Trump’s authoritarian agenda after today’s historic protests. (If you can’t attend live, no worries -- the call will be recorded).
Thanks to everyone who turned out today. We hope you’re reenergized, inspired, and fired up for the crucial work ahead.
And we hope being out there with millions of others saying ‘f**k no’ to the fascist takeover of America has reaffirmed this one truth: We’re going to win.
In solidarity, Indivisible Team
