Friends,
Over eight million of us gathered on Saturday -- at 3,300 events, in 50 states, and on seven continents -- in a historic rejection of this regime and its fascist projects at home and abroad.
Autocrats love to silence their opposition, and boy has Trump tried to shut us up. But eight million of us shouting -- not just our rage, but our hope and commitment to each other -- made it crystal clear that we the people have exactly zero intention of quieting down or letting up.
What now?
Protests aren't an end unto themselves, they're a tactic -- critical to, but only one element of, a larger strategy. We're not here to fill the streets, we're here to stop Trump's authoritarian power grab. We're going to hold every last member of his regime accountable and build a stronger democracy, one that's truly of, by, and for the people. There's a lot of work ahead.
TONIGHT: Join the No Kings Coalition’s Mass Call at 8pm ET/5pm PT to hear how we’re going to keep building this movement and use our people power to reject Trump’s authoritarian agenda. Until we win.
We'll talk about:
- Organizing to welcome new folks to the pro-democracy movement and sustained political action. This will include community meetings organized by No Kings attendees and hosts, across the country, to provide guidance and opportunities to engage in noncooperation, monitoring ICE deployments, and protecting the midterm election -- and, critically, its results. When we say we're protecting our neighbors and communities, that's exactly what we mean. And that means local, grassroots political action.
- Laying the groundwork for a nationwide day of economic disruption on May Day. Economic disruption, like mass protest, is a critical tactic in the fight against authoritarianism; to have maximal impact, it requires a broad coalition, energized and unified around putting the billionaire class on notice. This national day of no work, no shopping, no business as usual will be led by May Day Strong; we hope you can join us tonight to learn how we're going to join together to take our noncooperation to the next level.
Tonight's Mass Call will fill you in on how we're going to keep building this movement to reject Trump’s anti-democratic, dictatorial aspirations once and for all. We hope you can join us! The virtual event will be live, but will also be recorded for anyone who can't make it.
