Indivisibles,
Yesterday, at more than 3,000 May Day events across the country, people came together to send a clear message to Trump and his corporate enablers and billionaire cronies: Power belongs to the people, and we know how to wield it in the streets and with our wallets.
More than 70,000 students walked out of school. Business owners closed up shop and supported employees who joined local protests and rallies. National Nurses United, the largest RN union in US history, supported New Orleans nurses in walking out to demand a society built on care, not terror. And that just scratches the surface of the incredible actions we saw yesterday.
To really measure the impact of yesterday’s actions, it’s crucial that we hear from you. Please take a moment to fill out a brief survey about how you participated in May Day.
We can count crowd sizes and numbers of events held across the US, but it’s a bit harder to measure the economic impact of this kind of mass mobilization. That’s why we need your help -- the survey won’t take more than a minute or two, and your responses will help us gauge our strength as a movement and how we can continue to build the muscle of economic disruption -- because in this fight to overcome fascism, we know we’ll need to wield it again.
We’re up against an authoritarian regime, but yesterday’s actions are further evidence -- just like No Kings -- that we are not in this fight alone. Together, we will continue to practice nonviolent resistance to interrupt Trump’s consolidation of power and build our coalition as we approach the midterms and beyond.
In solidarity, Indivisible Team
