We’re asking you to be as blunt as possible with us. Indivisibles,
We’re going to be radically transparent with you, and we hope you’ll return the favor by giving us some honest -- perhaps even critical -- feedback. We can handle it.
Some background: The last two months have been pretty tough for our fundraising. May and June are the first consecutive months in almost two years where we’ve fallen behind on our fundraising goals.
To give you a peek behind the curtain, in April we sent only two fundraising emails over the entire month. Thanks to this incredible movement, they raised $426,242, allowing us to hit our grassroots fundraising goal for the month.
That’s our ideal scenario: hitting our goal, funding this movement, and doing it with fewer fundraising emails so we can focus our time and communications to you on non-fundraising actions.
But between last month and this month, we’ve had to play catch up. We’ve sent six fundraising emails in six weeks, which, altogether, raised less than our two fundraising emails in April. It’s not just email -- grassroots giving is down, period.
We don’t believe this trend is unique to Indivisible, but we are feeling the impact especially hard because grassroots donations make up our single largest source of funding.
This is usually the part of the email where we ask you to donate, but today we have an either/or request for you.
If you want to give, that’s fantastic! Here’s the link to donate.
Otherwise, we hope you can help us understand the slowdown in giving a bit more. Is it because of the general political mood, the economy, or are you not seeing what you'd like to see from Indivisible right now? Take our survey and let us know.
The more honest and blunt the better -- and there's no donate link at the end of the survey, because your responses will be invaluable as we navigate this moment and figure out how to adjust so that we keep fighting this fascist regime, win the midterms, and protect the results.
We want to know how you’re feeling about politics in general, where you’re prioritizing your giving (whether that’s to candidates or particular causes), what types of organizing or programs inspire you to give, and if there’s anything you believe Indivisible should change that would motivate you to donate.
The survey is relatively short but please feel free to answer as many or as few questions as you feel comfortable -- any amount of feedback is incredibly valuable! So please, click here to take the survey and let us know what you think.
In solidarity, Indivisible Team
