(scroll for the answer)
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
The answer is cryptocurrency. And it’s not even all that close.
After emerging as a major political spender in 2024, the industry accounts for about ⅓ of all corporate spending this election cycle. Trump and his allies have been major beneficiaries of this industry’s largesse, and Trump has personally profited from his own corrupt crypto schemes to the tune of $1.4 billion since returning to office.
All that money shaping our politics and the truth is, most Americans don’t know very much about the crypto industry, or its influence on our elections. We’re hoping to change that.
On this week’s What’s the Plan, Indivisible co-founders Ezra Levin and Leah Greenberg will be joined by actor and activist Ben McKenzie for an in-depth conversation on crypto corruption and how progressives should address it. McKenzie is the director of the anti-crypto documentary “Everyone Is Lying to You for Money," though many of you probably know him as the star of the OC.
Register for this week’s What’s the Plan with Ezra, Leah, and Ben McKenzie (Thursday, July 9 at 3pm ET / 12pm PT) >>

You can also submit your crypto-related questions in advance here.
For those new to Indivisible, What’s the Plan is the weekly virtual chat where Indivisible’s co-founders respond to the latest news and outline our strategy for fighting back against the authoritarian takeover of our government.
With Congress set to vote on a toothless regulation bill supported by the crypto industry (the CLARITY Act) as soon as next week, this will be more than a 101 on crypto -- our speakers will lay out what real regulation would look like and how our movement can take action to stop this sham legislation from passing.
Please join us Thursday and invite others to do the same.
In solidarity, Indivisible Team
