This week, the Supreme Court struck down Trump’s plan to restrict mail-in voting that could have disenfranchised millions of people. While that threat has been held off for now, the regime is continuing to do everything it can to undermine our freedom to vote:

Whether it’s federal agents being sent to the polls, misinformation campaigns, or efforts to seize ballots and raid voting centers, we need to be prepared to repel any and every attempt to sabotage the midterms. 

The key to protecting the midterm elections is organized people power, and the No Kings movement is leading the fight. On October 17, we’ll have a powerful, defiant, and joyful kickoff to the voting season that will help drive the largest early vote turnout in our country’s history. But we won’t stop there. The next No Kings Day will also be the entry point for millions of people to get plugged into the election defense organizing happening in their communities.

Early voting is our first line of defense. By banking votes early on, we can identify problems while there’s still time to fix them, turn the election into a season of voting rather than a single day that’s vulnerable to attacks, and out-organize the regime’s voter suppression tactics. 

Voting alone is not enough. We need a mass movement that is trained in election defense organizing and prepared for a nationwide mobilization that could last days or weeks if the regime attempts to overturn the midterm results. 

Building both historic voter turnout and an election defense force of millions of people is going to take resources. Indivisible is supporting No Kings with event vetting, host trainings, volunteer recruitment, event promotion, and media and digital outreach. And we’re working with our partners to provide early voter resources and election protection trainings so everyone in our communities knows when and how to vote, and is prepared to protect the results.
