As Indivisible’s Political Director, I help run our electoral strategy and GOTV efforts, and I have to say, two weeks out from Election Day, there are plenty of signs that make me optimistic. We’re ahead in the polls, our side is more motivated to vote than theirs, our volunteers are energized and determined, and Republicans are starting to scramble to defend seats they thought were safely red.

But polls don’t win elections: voters do. And the one thing that’s giving me pause right now is our ability to fund our voter outreach. This month, we’re behind on our fundraising goal with exactly $499,134 left to raise. It’s a big gap, and it couldn't have come at a worse time.

This isn’t an arbitrary goal -- I work with the rest of the Indivisible team to budget exactly how much we need to power this movement’s GOTV work. That work spans 9 Senate races and 31 House races (our biggest midterm campaign ever). And to win those races, we’re running billboards, peer-to-peer texting, our revolutionary Neighbor2Neighbor canvassing program, daily phone banks (sometimes twice daily!), and providing direct financial support to groups organizing on the ground in all 40 battlegrounds.

We have the volunteer energy and the right grassroots strategy to win in November, but we need the resources to match. If you’re able to donate today, please pitch in, help us close the gap, and make sure this movement has everything it needs to run through the tape on November 3.

We’re asking for your donations now, because now is when those donations can still make a difference in the red to blue races that are too close for comfort and in the races we need to hold so that those pickups matter.

Whether we reach our goal or don’t, we’re not going to be sending desperate emails on November 2 asking for a few more dollars because at that point it’s too late to use those dollars effectively. And we only ask for your contributions when we have a specific use for it -- a use we know will be impactful in our fight to defend our democracy and defeat authoritarianism.

If we raise less, we’ll do a little less voter outreach. If we raise more, we’ll do more. And if you donate today, know that you will be directly supporting the one-on-one conversations that can actually move voters to our side and get them to the polls before November 3.
