Like you, we spent most of yesterday digesting all of the information that came from the release of the (heavily-redacted) Mueller Report.

Even though Attorney General William Barr’s stressed once again in his morning presser that Trump was completely exonerated -- the report told us otherwise, further proving to us that Barr is just another agent of the Trump administration.

The report uncovered 10 instances of possible obstruction in the 2016 election. Mueller concluded that he couldn’t determine Trump’s involvement in crimes from those instances, but that it doesn’t exonerate Trump.

A few top lines from the report:

1. Russia did interfere in the 2016 election. Trump’s direct involvement is questioned, but there are ties to his campaign.
2. When Mueller was appointed, Trump reacted by saying, “This will be the end of my presidency. I’m f*****.” (Not really something an innocent person would say.)
3. Trump continuously fought to prevent the disclosure of evidence becoming public, like revealing Donald Trump Jr.’s meeting at Trump Tower with a Russian lawyer.
4. Trump directed Don McGahn to have Mueller himself fired, but McGahn didn’t carry this out.

Mueller’s conclusions led many to believe yesterday that this was the “go signal” to Congress and that it was up to them to hold the President further accountable.

This is in Congress’ hands now, and while a few notable members of Congress (MoCs) -- like House Judiciary Committee Chair Rep. Jerry Nadler issuing a subpoena for the full unredacted report and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez signing onto Rep. Rashida Tlaib’s impeachment investigation -- there are still several MoCs who are on the fence. That’s where you come in.

Congress must investigate now.

It’s our turn to put in the work to urge Congress to use their oversight powers to investigate Trump. Members of Congress (especially those who sit on relevant committees like Judiciary or Intelligence) should continue using their subpoena power to uncover the full Mueller report, as well as pursuing investigations related to Trump’s corruption, both during and before his time in office. There are a few ways we’re going to do that:

1. Call to support Rep. Rashida Tlaib’s impeachment resolution. Make a call to your MoC and tell them to co-sponsor Rep. Tlaib's resolution (H.Res. 257) and begin investigating whether Trump should be impeached.
2. Send an email to support Rep. Tlaib’s impeachment resolution. Write up an email (or use our suggested text!) and we'll send your letter to your MoC urging them to co-sponsor Rep. Tlaib's resolution.
3. It’s still recess -- show up at a town hall. It’s still April recess until the 26th and your MoCs are in your home turf. That means that you can still show up to their scheduled events and ask them to support Rep. Tlaib’s resolution.

There is no longer “nothing we can do” about Trump’s antics. Democrats have taken over the House, and there’s no need for them to limit themselves to the same narrow scope as the Mueller investigation. We will demand that they prioritize using their new powers to hold Trump accountable. Nobody is above the law, and we’re going to make sure that Trump hears that loud and clear.
