Indivisibles are ready to call for impeachment. Read on for our next steps.

Indivisibles,

At the end of May, when Robert Mueller broke his silence about the findings of his investigation and made it clear that it was up to Congress to hold Trump accountable, we sent an urgent survey to our network asking for your thoughts on pursuing impeachment, and how you believe the movement needed to respond.

We received thousands of replies from nearly every state across the country, from group leaders, group members, activists, and supporters. We read through detailed, thoughtful responses on what you believed this moment could mean, and the role you see for Indivisibles. We didn’t want to get guidance from politicos or pollsters -- we wanted to hear directly from you.

We’ve crunched the numbers, and we’re ready to release the results and more importantly, to discuss what this means moving forward.

Here’s the main finding: We’re not as divided as some in Washington want us to believe on this issue, and Indivisibles are very supportive of House Democrats starting impeachment investigations. 80% of respondents believe Democrats should start impeachment investigations and 75% are willing to invest time and energy in working to make that happen.

We also asked a series of questions on how Indivisibles want to engage in impeachment, and we’ve compiled all of the results of the survey into a post on our blog. Click the preview below to read the results now.

In response to the question "Do you think House Democrats should initiate an impeachment investigation into Donald Trump?" 80% of folks responded "yes", 8% of folks responded "No", and 12% responded "maybe".

So, what does this all mean for the here and now? Former congressional staffers will tell you: If the politics are uncertain, you might as well do what’s right. That’s the choice in front of House Democrats right now.

We’ve heard from House Democratic Leadership that they fear the political consequences of impeaching Trump, but these findings clearly show that the grassroots community (you know, the one that put Democrats in power to begin with) worries about the political consequences if they don’t.

Nobody has a political crystal ball, and if we’ve learned one thing in the Trump era, it’s that the political future is uncertain. But this uncertainty should clarify things for all of us weighing impeachment. Because while there’s healthy disagreement about the politics at play here, almost all House Democrats agree that Donald Trump deserves to be the subject of impeachment proceedings. So, the message to House Democrats is simple: Don’t overthink it -- just do what we elected you to do.

We’ll be talking more about impeachment and opportunities for ongoing action in the weeks ahead. Right now, here are the top ways we’re asking you to take action:
