Indivisible
Make calls, ask the hard questions, and get MoCs on the record:

To TX Indivisibles, and everyone impacted by this week's systemic failures:
We see you, and we feel for you. Long term, we know that rebuilding our democracy is how we'll address climate change, regulation, and other failures that lead to this crisis, but we also know that in a moment like this, long-term work can feel woefully inadequate. Please, take care of yourselves and your communities first.

Indivisibles,

Keep the February recess momentum going by making calls today! Congressional recess started on February 13 and will continue until February 21, meaning your members of Congress are back at home answering to constituents from their district offices. This recess presents a unique opportunity for us to show MoCs that we care about democracy reform and we expect them to make it a priority.

We’re setting our sights on passing H.R. 1/ S. 1, the For the People Act, a robust reform package that targets voter suppression, gerrymandering, money in politics, corruption, and more. Also on our agenda, passing H.R. 51/ S. 51 to make D.C. the 51st state. Both of these bills make our democracy more equitable and representative of the people and empower the long-term progressive goals that we’ve been fighting for. Click here to read more about the For the People Act and the D.C. statehood bill.

Today (February 17) we’re holding a national call-in day to make sure our members of Congress are feeling the pressure to pass our bold, structural democracy agenda. Join us to make calls, ask the hard questions, and get them on the record on our priorities -- from meaningful COVID-19 relief that includes raising the minimum wage to passing democracy reform measures like the For the People Act (H.R. 1/S. 1) and the D.C. statehood bill (H.R. 51/ S. 51).

This is our opportunity to do two things: 1) make sure MoCs feel pressure from their constituents and 2) build a national narrative for action. We’ve put together a Democracy Defenders Toolkit to help you catch up on all the issues we’re prioritizing, get acquainted with the key senators we're spotlighting, and learn more about how to host your own virtual or safe in-person event: find everything you need this February recess with our Democracy Defenders Toolkit here.

This recess is just too important to sit out: Congress needs to act quickly and decisively to pass meaningful COVID-19 relief and democracy reform measures that put all of our other priorities within reach. Make an impact by making calls today and all week long.

In solidarity,
Indivisible Team
