Join us to submit a letter to your local paper, and build more pressure on your member of Congress for real democracy reform and comprehensive COVID-19 relief

Robert,

This week, after 43 Republican senators voted to absolve Trump of any accountability for his role in the Jan. 6 insurrection, members of Congress are on recess and in their districts to hear from their constituents.

Indivisibles are hard at work letting them know that we expect them to defend our democracy. During this Democracy Defenders Week of Action, we’re building a powerful drumbeat for transformative democracy reform through bills like H.R. 1/S. 1 and H.R. 51/S. 51, and today, we’re asking activists like you to write a letter to the editors (LTE) of your local news outlets to support these crucial reform efforts.

LTEs are a great tool for building pressure on your members of Congress -- senators, representatives, and their staffs pay close attention to media coverage in their states and districts to help monitor constituent interests and prioritize work. And they’re easier to write than you might think, we promise!

Join us to submit a letter to your local paper, and build more pressure on your member of Congress for real democracy reform and comprehensive COVID-19 relief. Click here to use our handy LTE tool to submit one of your own!

To win the democracy reform we need, remake our government for the people, and put our progressive priorities in play, we need a multi-pronged plan. From events to digital actions to traditional media like newspapers, getting the message out to the people and to members of Congress is going to be crucial. Today, it’s time to flex those writing muscles to reach a broad group of readers and show our elected officials we’re serious.

In solidarity,
Indivisible Team

Indivisible Project is a locally-led, people-powered movement of thousands of local groups in red, blue, and purple states, and in urban, suburban, and rural areas. Our mission is to power and lift up a grassroots movement of local groups to defeat the Trump agenda, elect progressive leaders, and realize bold progressive policies.

Grassroots donations, not foundations or large gifts, are our single largest source of funding. That means we’re accountable to, and fueled by, Indivisibles on the ground. Chip in $7 to keep fueling our movement.
